SC Cleared Senior Test Automation Engineer

Overview

In this role you will design, develop and maintain automated test solutions for a leading UK bank, embedding testing into CI/CD pipelines. You will collaborate with developers, analysts and stakeholders in an Agile setting to broaden test coverage and improve delivery quality. You will shape automation strategy and tooling, driving reliability and efficiency across platforms. This hybrid Leeds/London position offers impactful work with a major financial services client and a clear security requirement. You will contribute hands-on testing leadership to a cross-functional team.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks
• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines
• Define appropriate test coverage with developers, analysts and stakeholders
• Troubleshoot automation failures and investigate defects
• Contribute to automation framework, tooling and process improvements
• Support implementation of effective testing strategies across applications and services
• Identify opportunities to improve automation coverage, efficiency and reliability
• Maintain documentation around test automation, frameworks and processes
• Collaborate within an Agile delivery environment
• Contribute to continuous improvement across the wider testing and quality engineering function

Key requirements

• Strong understanding of software testing principles and methodologies
• Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks and tools
• Experience with Selenium, Karate, SOAP UI, Postman
• Programming/scripting in Python, Java or similar
• Experience with CI/CD tools and version control (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins)
• Experience working in an Agile environment
• Familiarity with Cucumber / BDD
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
