Job Description School Caretaker Specialist SEND School Location: Braintree, EssexSalary: £25,000 £30,000 per annum, depending on experienceContract: Full-time, PermanentWere looking for a practical, reliable School Caretaker to join a specialist SEND school in Braintree.
This is a hands-on role where youll take pride in keeping the school safe, secure, well maintained and welcoming for the children and young people who use it every day. What Youll Be Doing Carrying out general maintenance and minor repairsOpening, closing and securing the schoolCompleting regular building, grounds and safety checksBasic plumbing, painting, decorating and handyperson tasksMaintaining outdoor areas, gardens and play spacesSupporting fire safety, health & safety and compliance checksLiaising with contractors and reporting larger repairsKeeping maintenance and safety records up to dateHelping maintain a clean, calm and well-organised school environmentWhat Were Looking For
Youll ideally have
Previous caretaking, maintenance, facilities or handyperson experienceGood general DIY and practical maintenance skillsAn understanding of health & safety and safe working practicesThe ability to work independently and spot problems before they become bigger onesA reliable, organised and proactive approachA calm and respectful manner around children and young peopleExperience within a school, SEND, care or similar environment would be an advantage, but isnt essential.
