SEMH Teaching Assistant | Key Details£95-110 per day PAYEFull-time, term-time onlyImmediate start availableBased in IslingtonLong-term role for the full academic yearExcellent experience for aspiring teachers, therapists, SEN professionals, Youth Workers or PsychologistsSEMH Teaching Assistant | The RoleSupport pupils with SEMH needs, behaviour barriers and emotional regulationWork with pupils who may present as withdrawn, anxious, defiant, dysregulated or disengagedProvide 1:1, small-group and in-class supportHelp pupils follow routines, access learning and rebuild trust with adultsUse calm, consistent boundaries rather than confrontationSupport behaviour plans, pastoral interventions and classroom reintegrationWork closely with teachers, the SENCO, pastoral staff and external professionalsSEMH Teaching Assistant | Candidate RequirementsPrevious experience with SEMH, behaviour, mentoring, youth work or SEN is strongly preferredPsychology, Criminology, Education or related graduates encouraged to applyMust be patient, emotionally mature and able to stay calm under pressureConfident setting boundaries and following school behaviour systemsAble to build relationships without taking challenging behaviour personallyReliable, professional and able to commit for the full academic yearThis SEMH Teaching Assistant role is not about simply helping in class.
