SEND Teacher (PMLD) Bristol Full Time Start Date: ASAP Paid to Teacher Pay Scale (MPS/UPS dependent on experience) SEND Teacher - Specialist School We are seeking a compassionate, dedicated and highly motivated SEND Teacher to join a specialist school in Bristol supporting children and young people with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) across both primary and secondary age ranges.
This is a full-time opportunity to make a meaningful difference to the lives of pupils with complex learning, physical, sensory and medical needs. The successful candidate will be passionate about inclusive education and committed to helping every learner achieve their full potential.
The Role You will be responsible for planning and delivering highly personalised learning programmes that meet the individual needs of pupils with PMLD. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will create engaging, sensory-rich learning experiences that support communication, independence, wellbeing and life skills.
You will collaborate closely with teaching assistants, therapists, families and external professionals to ensure pupils receive the highest quality educational experience and support. Key Responsibilities Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
Create a safe, nurturing and stimulating classroom environment. Support pupils' communication, sensory, physical and personal development. Develop and implement personalised learning targets and outcomes. Work collaboratively with support staff, therapists and families.
Monitor, assess and celebrate pupil progress using appropriate assessment frameworks. Contribute to EHCP reviews and annual review processes. Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing. Uphold safeguarding and child protection procedures at all times.
About You We are looking for a teacher who: Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). Has experience working with children or young people with SEND. Has knowledge of PMLD, complex needs and personalised learning approaches.
