Your Role as an SEN Teaching Assistant As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will support individuals or small groups within a setting matched to your experience, following guidance from teachers and specialist staff. Reinforce classroom activities and use accessible resources to help pupils understand instructions.

Encourage communication, participation and independence without completing tasks for pupils. Follow agreed approaches to emotional regulation, behaviour and transitions. Share observations so the school can monitor engagement and adapt support when needed.

What We Are Looking For in an SEN Teaching Assistant Experience supporting children or young people with additional needs in a relevant setting. An adaptable SEN Teaching Assistant with a patient approach and dependable attendance.

Confidence working collaboratively and following individual support and safeguarding procedures. An enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to apply for one, alongside satisfactory safeguarding checks.
