Senior Bid Manager

Overview

As Senior Bid Manager in AECOM’s Water team, you guide the end-to-end work-winning process for large, strategic bids. You align cross‑functional stakeholders to craft compliant, compelling proposals that meet client needs and win targets. You’ll shape win strategies, drive bid stages, and translate client feedback into continuous improvement. This role places you at the heart of water infrastructure challenges, climate resilience, and the energy transition, delivering measurable impact on complex projects.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end proposals for complex bids (5m–20m+) across departments and regions
• Oversee positioning and capture activities, including win strategy workshops with leadership
• Create compliant, compelling bids using AECOM templates and best practices
• Lead bid stages: kickoff, answer planning, reviews, document production, and interviews
• Analyze debriefs and client feedback to extract lessons and improve future bids
• Lead discrete bidding projects to embed best practices (e.g., training)
• Support active pipeline management and resource planning for Water Work Winning
• Contribute to knowledge management, bid library upkeep, and training materials

Key requirements

• Experience in managing complex multi-disciplinary bids in construction/engineering
• Ability to craft win strategies and compliant bid responses
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Teams, PowerPoint
• Excellent verbal and written communication with stakeholders at all levels
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
