Overview
As a Senior Chemist in Aberdeen, you will lead laboratory testing and analysis to inform oilfield production solutions. You will apply findings to current systems and help develop novel products for field deployment, alongside advancing new testing methodologies. You’ll collaborate across disciplines and may pursue adjacent product lines as you grow. You’ll also engage with industry events to share research, contributing to SLB’s mission of energy innovation for a balanced planet.

Responsibilities
- Project management for lab-based initiatives
- Adhere to safety protocols and COSHH/risk assessments in the lab
- Conduct laboratory tests to fulfil project requests
- Screen and/or assist in developing new products
- Technical report writing and data management
- Learning product applications and providing field support
- Maintain laboratory cleanliness and calibration records
- Follow test protocols and document QA processes
Key requirements
- BSc Hons or MSc in Chemistry or a related subject
- Experience with oilfield chemical-related projects
- Laboratory experience with research project management
- Approximately 2 years of relevant experience (depends on education)
- Good computer skills: Word, Excel, PowerPoint; DOE is optional
- Strong oral and written English communication
