Senior Data Engineer - Finance Data

Overview As a Senior Data Engineer in a scaling Investment Research tech company, you design and operate a modern, scalable AWS-based data platform. You will own the data pipelines, ingestion frameworks and processing workflows, migrating datasets into a unified architecture while collaborating with the Data Platform Engineer.

Your work focuses on PostgreSQL and time-series data management, data quality, governance and ensuring platform reliability at scale. This role offers hands-on delivery, strong collaboration, and the opportunity to shape data infrastructure in a fintech environment.

Pay / Benefits salary up to 120k + bonus 3 weeks per year anywhere 25 days holiday (30 with tenure) pension 9% (company 5%, employee 4%) healthcare for you and family Cycle to Work scheme Responsibilities Design and maintain data pipelines, ingestion frameworks and processing workflows Support migration of existing datasets into a unified data architecture Collaborate with Data Platform Engineer on platform design, data modelling and database optimisation Onboard new data sources Manage and optimise PostgreSQL and time-series databases (TimescaleDB or similar) Improve data quality, governance, and platform reliability, performance and scalability Key requirements Experience as a Data Engineer in financial data / FinTech or financial services Strong SQL and Python coding skills Strong AWS experience, including Data Lakes and S3 Experience building and supporting large-scale data pipelines Experience with PostgreSQL Experience with time-series data (TimescaleDB or equivalent) Experience with orchestration platforms (Dagster or Airflow) Collaborative with good communication skills collaborative strong communication Python SQL AWS (Data Lakes, S3) PostgreSQL
