Our client is a fast-growing maritime technology innovator developing cutting-edge wind-assisted propulsion systems. Their mission is to drastically reduce fuel consumption and carbon emissions across the global shipping industry.

As they scale, they are looking for a Senior Design Engineer to join their engineering team. This is a hands-on, high-impact role where you will manage the entire design lifecycle—from initial concept and detailed design to manufacturing release and operational hardware.

The Role & Responsibilities In this position, you will take full ownership of key mechanical subsystems, ensuring they are robust, cost-effective, and production-ready.

Design Ownership: Lead the mechanical design of subsystems from concept through to manufacturing release. Technical Execution: Produce high-quality 3D models, manufacturing drawings, and necessary engineering calculations.

Manufacturing Liaison: Apply Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DFMA) principles to improve standards and reduce costs. International Coordination: Act as the engineering interface with international suppliers to ensure timely delivery.

Problem Solving: Rapidly resolve design issues based on feedback from manufacturing and suppliers. Mentorship: Guide and review the work of junior engineers to maintain high standards of integrity and safety. Key Requirements Experience: 5–10 years of hands-on experience in mechanical design within a production environment.

Industry Background: Proven track record in the Marine, Wind, or Offshore sectors. Technical

Skills

High proficiency in Siemens NX, Inventor, or equivalent 3D CAD tools. Fabrication Knowledge: Strong experience with large structural assemblies, welding, and fabrication. Standards: Familiarity with class or certification requirements (e.g., DNV or LR).

Travel: Willingness to travel to manufacturing plants in China (approximately 1 week per quarter) and visit various supplier sites. Language (Highly Desirable): Fluency or partial fluency in Mandarin is a significant advantage and may command a higher salary bracket.
