Love food development, but equally good at making the whole process actually happen?

I'm recruiting a Senior Development Chef for a major premium food and hospitality business, working across culinary development, client presentations, tenders and large-scale production.

This isn't purely a role for someone who wants to spend every day developing dishes. You'll be the number two within the development function, bringing structure, organisation and fresh thinking to a highly experienced culinary team.

Salary & Benefits

  • £65,000-£75,000 salary
  • Company car
  • Mileage and business travel covered
  • Private medical benefits
  • Company pension
  • Predominantly Monday-Friday
  • UK and occasional international travel
  • Excellent long-term development opportunity

The Operation

  • Large-scale premium food production.
  • Complex, high-volume operation.
  • Established development kitchen.
  • High-profile international clients.
  • Major client tastings and presentations.
  • New business tenders and menu development.
  • Significant investment and growth plans.

The Role

  • Coordinate the development kitchen and team.
  • Manage multiple culinary projects simultaneously.
  • Lead major client tastings and presentations.
  • Support menu development and innovation.
  • Work closely with commercial and costing teams.
  • Coordinate recipes, specifications and development systems.
  • Support tenders and new business opportunities.
  • Represent the culinary team with senior clients.
  • Help develop and train production teams.
  • Bring greater structure to development processes.

About You

  • Senior Development Chef, Executive Chef or senior culinary professional.
  • Background can include contract catering, events, food manufacturing, corporate catering or large-scale hospitality.
  • Strong culinary credibility, but equally strong organisational skills.
  • Experienced with menu development and food costing.
  • Confident presenting food and concepts to senior clients.
  • Comfortable with systems, specifications and documentation.
  • Commercially aware and highly organised.
  • Diplomatic and confident working with experienced teams.
  • Comfortable travelling when required.

If you're a senior culinary professional who combines food knowledge, commercial thinking, organisation and brilliant client skills, this is a genuinely exciting opportunity to influence a major development operation.
