Senior Infrastructure Engineer

Overview

In this senior hands-on role, you design and deliver medium-sized infrastructure changes to keep services resilient, secure and scalable. You will guide junior engineers, collaborate across Technology Services, and help manage risk to support a growing, regulated business. You’ll contribute to operational resilience and regulatory compliance, including Consumer Duty, while shaping reliable, long-term infrastructure solutions. Responsibilities

• Own technical design and delivery for medium-sized infrastructure changes or projects
• Guide and support other engineers within the team
• Collaborate with Technology Services to manage risk and improve services
• Ensure infrastructure meets security, resilience and maintainability standards
• Support regulatory responsibilities and operational resilience
• Produce and handover technical documentation and standards
• Work within change control and service management processes
• Communicate risks, decisions and trade-offs clearly

Key requirements

• Infrastructure engineering experience in a financial services, regulated, or business-critical environment
• Ability to own design and delivery for medium-sized infrastructure changes or projects
• Strong understanding of dependencies between infrastructure, applications, networks, identity, security and operations
• Troubleshoot complex issues and support incident resolution
• Experience with technical documentation, implementation plans and standards
• Experience with change control and service management processes
• Clear communicator with ability to explain risks and trade-offs
• Experience coaching and supporting less experienced engineers
• Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
• Knowledge of security, resilience, monitoring, capacity and maintainability
