The organisation is continuing to modernise and grow its legal services function, with a strong emphasis on delivering high-quality support to frontline safeguarding services. You will be part of a collaborative and supportive environment where your work will have a direct impact on protecting vulnerable individuals within the community.
There are two positions in this team available, either on a full-time or part-time (24 hours) basis. Your new roleYou will join a specialist Safeguarding team, managing your own caseload and providing legal advice on a range of complex matters relating to adult social care.
For those working in adult-focused roles, your caseload will primarily involve litigation in the Court of Protection, including: Managing cases from inception through to conclusionProviding clear and practical legal advice to clientsConducting your own advocacy at hearingsInstructing counsel where requiredThis is a varied role, offering a mix of remote working, office attendance, and travel to courts and other locations.
What you'll need to succeedYou will be a qualified (or soon to qualify) Solicitor, Barrister, or CILEx Fellow with relevant litigation and advocacy rights. You should ideally have experience in one or more of the following areas: Court of Protection / Mental Capacity Act 2005Care Act 2014Mental Health Act 1983Community care lawAdvocacy within safeguarding or family proceedingsPublic law, including judicial reviewNewly qualified candidates with relevant training and a strong interest in safeguarding law are encouraged to apply.
