Senior Machine Learning Engineer

Overview

In this role, you will develop production-ready computer vision models within Epic’s Unreal Engine ecosystem, tackling agentic vision tasks for scene generation, bots/agents, and automated content verification. You’ll collaborate with engineers to design, implement, and deploy scalable ML solutions that support game developers and cross-team initiatives. You will assess model effectiveness and contribute to roadmap decisions while exploring new data channels. This opportunity combines cutting-edge ML with real-time entertainment to push engine and game development forward.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement and deploy production-ready computer vision models
• Develop scalable deep-learning models and related algorithms for vision problems
• Critically evaluate model effectiveness and influence roadmap decisions
• Assess new data channels and support creation of additional data sources
• Work at the intersection of vision, language and ML to build agentic tools for games
• Collaborate with other developers in an agile/lean environment
• Support deployment of models in cloud or industrial-scale environments (desirable)
• Contribute to 3D Vision/Graphics initiatives (desirable)

Key requirements

• PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics or related field
• 5+ years of relevant industry experience
• Proven track record in CV solutions deployed in production environments
• Expert hands-on knowledge of: deep learning for supervised, semi-supervised and unsupervised learning
• Experience with reinforcement learning, imitation learning, and related frameworks
• Python and ML tools/frameworks (numpy, scipy, sklearn, pytorch)
• Collaborative, agile/lean work experience
• Desirable: cloud ML systems at medium to large scale (AWS) and 3D Vision/Graphics
