Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Overview

In this role, you will lead mechanical services design for diverse projects from a Derby office. You will shape technical delivery across Commercial, Education, Libraries, Residential, Shopping Centres and Mixed Use schemes, guiding a growing team. You’ll manage projects and mentor junior engineers, leveraging your extensive experience to ensure quality and coherence with sub-consultants. This is a chance to contribute to a regional expansion and establish a strong mechanical team from the ground up.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical systems design across multiple project types
• Provide project management oversight and scheduling
• Mentor and develop junior engineers within the team
• Coordinate with sub-consultants and ensure integration of disciplines
• Utilise design software; Revit experience preferred
• Contribute to office expansion and team setup in Derby

Key requirements

• 6+ years’ experience
• Degree in related field
• Sound technical knowledge of all Mechanical systems
• Understanding of sub-consultant works
• Project management experience
• Revit experience preferred (but not required)
