Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Overview

As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer at Assystem, you will develop fluid systems within a regulated nuclear context. You will collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver robust 2D and 3D CAD designs, ensuring safety, quality, and compliance across the project lifecycle. Your work will influence layout optimization, model reviews, and seamless integration with the supply chain. Responsibilities

• Create 2D CAD drawings including PFDs and P&IDs
• Build 3D CAD/BIM models, layouts, piping design, isometrics, MTOs and general drawings
• Lead layout optimization across design phases
• Participate in 3D model reviews and design reviews
• Ensure compliance with safety factors, standards, codes and requirements
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams for coordinated design
• Maintain design process records and CAD/BIM documentation
• Report status to management and pursue on-time, on-budget delivery
• Support standards adherence and issue resolution with stakeholders
• Ensure alignment with H&S policies and project quality requirements

Key requirements

• Previous experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer or similar role
• Ability to work within an engineering team to realise designs
• Familiarity with 2D CAD systems (AutoCAD)
• Familiarity with 3D CAD/BIM systems (Revit, Inventor, Solidworks, Solid Edge, Siemens NX, PDMS, AutoCAD Plant 3D or similar)
• Professional qualification in an engineering related field
• SC Clearance or capable of achieving it
• Good communication skills (written and spoken)
• Delivery-focused with ability to meet time and budget constraints
• Integrity and reliability
