Job Description Senior Mechanical Design Engineer (Oilfield Applications) c85k + BonusAberdeen Ref: ABJ6760An exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer with a strong oil & gas background to join a growing and technically innovative engineering business supporting the development of specialist equipment for the global energy sector.

This is a senior, hands-on design role offering the opportunity to take ownership of complex engineering projects from design and development through to testing and manufacture , working closely with customers, management and workshop/manufacturing teams.

You will be involved in product development, engineering design, technical drawings, design reviews, qualification and testing, with particular relevance to well completion and specialist oilfield equipment . Key Responsibilities Set and maintain engineering standards and processesProduce and review detailed engineering and manufacturing drawingsDevelop assembly, disassembly and redress proceduresLead design reviews and approve engineering designsSupport product development from concept through to testingPrepare engineering test requests and reportsOversee prototype design and workshop testingAnalyse customer specifications and technical requirementsEnsure designs meet engineering, performance and customer specificationsDefine Design Acceptance Criteria (DAC)Maintain drawing integrity and manage design changesWork closely with management, engineering and manufacturing teamsSupport equipment qualification and testingPresent new designs and provide technical guidance during assembly and testingQualifications & Experience Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Design Engineering or similar10+ years relevant engineering/design experience within oil & gas or a highly engineered environmentStrong experience producing engineering and manufacturing drawingsExperience with AutoCAD and/or CADWorxStrong understanding of mechanical design principles and manufacturing methodsExperience with completion equipment, downhole equipment highly desirableWorking knowledge of relevant engineering design calculationsUnderstanding of API manufacturing principles and standardsKnowledge of standards such as API 11D1, ASNT and AWSExperience with engineering qualification, testing and prototype developmentStrong understanding of drawing control and design change processesQHSE / API Q1 awareness and project planning experience advantageousWhy Join?
