Senior Mechanical Design Engineer
Raven Search · Warrington, England ·
Job Description The Opportunity Designing mechanical services for a live food production facility or a pharmaceutical plant is a different discipline to designing them for an office block. Hygiene standards, process integration, containment, shutdown windows and validation requirements all shape the design before aesthetics get a look in.
That is the work our client is recruiting a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to lead. Our client is an established M&E engineering specialist based in Warrington, delivering predominantly into industrial, food and drink, FMCG and pharmaceutical environments.
This is a senior role within their in-house design team, taking full ownership of mechanical design delivery from concept through to installation, providing technical direction to less experienced engineers, and working alongside the pre-construction and delivery teams rather than at arms length from them.
It is a permanent role in Warrington, £50,000 to £65,000 depending on experience, plus a full benefits package. About the Business Our client is a well-established M&E engineering specialist with national reach and a strong North-West base.
Their capability spans mechanical services, electrical engineering, HVAC, in-house design and planned and reactive maintenance, all delivered under one roof. The Warrington operation works predominantly across industrial, food and drink, FMCG and pharmaceutical environments, delivering for a client base that includes some of the UKs most recognisable manufacturers and processors.
Much of that work is carried out within live production facilities, where the engineering has to accommodate hygiene standards, process constraints, shutdown windows and strict compliance requirements. It is a technically demanding end of the market and a long way from standard commercial building services.
Accreditations include ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001. The business has grown steadily on the strength of delivery and long-term client relationships, with a high proportion of repeat and referral-based work. Design sits in-house alongside delivery, which means designers see how their work performs in practice rather than handing it over and moving on.
