Senior Mechanical Engineer

Overview

As a Chartered Senior Mechanical Engineer at Arup, you will lead the design and delivery of building services on high-profile projects across the UK and internationally. You’ll work within the Building Engineering Team to develop system strategies, supervise technical coordination, and guide others from inception to completion. You will apply sustainable design and energy modelling to minimise carbon and enhance performance. Responsibilities

• Drive design and delivery of building services systems across projects
• Develop system strategies and liaise with project teams
• Direct comfort and thermal analysis of buildings and spaces
• Supervise spatial and technical co-ordination and integration into design
• Manage production of models, drawings, reports and specifications within budgets and deadlines
• Supervise and coordinate work of others including other disciplines and in-house specialists

Key requirements

• Chartered Engineer with Building Services Engineering experience
• Broad hands-on experience with systems, installations and project sectors
• Supports the development of others and provides guidance and feedback
• Knowledge of sustainable building design addressing energy and carbon
• Collaborative team player

• Energy modelling software, ideally IES
• Building services design and integration
