Senior Network Operations Engineer – high frequency trading

Overview

In this role you will maintain and optimize mission-critical networks for a world-class prop trading firm. You will join a small, expert team in London and gain deep exposure to high-performance trading networks and proprietary systems. You’ll monitor, troubleshoot, and engineer network performance while expanding knowledge in microwave planning and cross-functional projects. Responsibilities

• Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues
• Conduct complex engineering activities to maximize performance
• Learn and apply microwave network planning including frequency and interference analysis
• Support and configure proprietary black boxes
• Perform daily health checks using proprietary and standard monitoring tools
• Support project implementation
• Determine power configuration and forecast capacity
• Be on call and work extra hours if needed

Key requirements

• BSc in a computer or network based subject
• Sub 7 years of commercial network experience
• Experience with Cisco and Juniper, and interest in proprietary hardware
• Scripting skills (Python, Perl, Shell, Java, JavaScript)
• Linux administration skills
• Self-driven, independent work style
• Strong problem-solving abilities
• Willingness to learn new technologies
• Ability to engineer projects and produce documentation
