Senior Planner

Overview

In this role you will support the financial management of projects by applying cost data and earned value practices to keep projects on track. You will work closely with the Project Manager and team to analyze financial data, forecast costs, and monitor progress. The role focuses on cost control, baseline development, and reporting to guide decisions in large-scale infrastructure programs. Responsibilities

• Use cornerstone cost data formats to control projects
• Analyze financial data to identify key issues and trends
• Assist in leading junior staff and tracking action items
• Establish project baselines from drawings and specifications
• Prepare revised cost forecasts and cost impact analyses
• Monitor earned value and compare actuals to budgets
• Review invoices and manage subcontractor funding alignment
• Evaluate manpower, labour hours, and budget variances
• Forecast expenditures and identify critical funding points
• Track POs and commitments, maintain funding alignment and change orders
• Support cost/schedule integration and critical path concepts
• Prepare project reports and participate in cost review meetings
• Assist in procedure development and implementation

• Engineering background

• Experience with MS Project and Primavera P6
• Defined WBS, dependencies, milestones, and critical paths
• Built and monitored baseline schedules and change control
• Forecasted resource demand and aligned with delivery teams
