Overview

As a Senior/Principal Structural Engineer at Stantec, you will lead high-quality structural design and delivery across diverse projects. You’ll partner with UK clients, guiding technical solutions and ensuring regulatory compliance, while developing internal capabilities beyond water and energy.

Reporting to the Specialist Structural Engineering Technical Lead, you’ll mentor others and shape technical capability within the team. This role combines hands-on design for concrete, steel, and masonry with inspections and asset-modification reporting.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of structural engineering projects across sectors
• Collaborate with clients in the UK to meet requirements and drive technical delivery
• Provide structural design for concrete, steel, and masonry structures
• Conduct structural inspections and produce maintenance/modification reports for regulatory standards
• mentor and develop technical capability within the team
• work with cross-functional teams across civil, geotechnical, and construction disciplines
• support business opportunities beyond water and energy
• report to the Specialist Structural Engineering Technical Lead

Key requirements

• Previous structural design experience
• Good knowledge of civil and geotechnical engineering
• Awareness of other engineering disciplines for collaborative work
• Strong understanding of construction information requirements for design & build projects
• Experience in coaching and mentoring others and leading technical capability development
