Senior Quantity Surveyor

Overview

In this site-based Senior Quantity Surveyor role, you will drive commercial delivery on a major civil engineering programme in West Cumbria. You’ll manage NEC3/NEC4 contracts, cost forecasting, and risk control while coordinating with cross-functional teams. The role supports procurement, subcontract administration, and robust financial reporting to ensure project profitability. This is a hands-on opportunity to shape commercial performance on a long-term infrastructure project.

Responsibilities

• Provide commercial expertise across complex civil packages
• Administer NEC3/NEC4 contracts including change control, payments, and final accounts
• Support cost estimation, budgeting, forecasting, and commercial reporting
• Identify and manage commercial and contractual risks ensuring governance compliance
• Lead subcontract administration, supplier engagement, and performance monitoring
• Contribute to procurement processes and tender evaluation
• Produce accurate financial reports and maintain cost control across project phases
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams for commercial alignment

Key requirements

• Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor in civil engineering or infrastructure
• Strong knowledge of NEC3 or NEC4 contract management
• Degree in Quantity Surveying or related discipline (or equivalent)
• Excellent analytical, negotiation, and stakeholder communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
• Ability to obtain BPSS security clearance
