Senior Quantity Surveyor

The Opportunity
</br>
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a growing, independent Chartered Surveying consultancy with an established reputation across the care, retirement living, residential and healthcare sectors.
</br>
The business has ambitious growth plans, a strong pipeline of secured projects and works with a range of leading care operators, developers and organisations across the UK.
</br>
This role would suit a Senior QS who enjoys taking ownership of projects and client relationships while working within a smaller, entrepreneurial consultancy where there is genuine opportunity to influence the future growth of the business.
</br>
The Role
</br>
You will take responsibility for the commercial and cost management delivery of projects from initial feasibility and cost planning through procurement, construction and final account.
</br>
Projects will predominantly sit within the care home, retirement living and wider residential/multi-bed sectors, including both new-build and refurbishment schemes.
</br>
You will work directly with clients, contractors and project teams, providing commercially focused advice throughout the development lifecycle.
</br>
Typical responsibilities will include:
</br>
- </br>
- Full pre and post-contract Quantity Surveying services
- </br>
- Feasibility studies, estimating and cost planning
- </br>
- Procurement and tender management
- </br>
- Contract administration and commercial reporting
- </br>
- Valuations, variations and final accounts
- </br>
- Working closely with developers, operators and project teams
- </br>
- Managing multiple projects and client relationships
- </br>
- Supporting junior members of the team where required
- </br>
- Identifying opportunities for repeat and new business
- </br>
</br>
Ideally, you will have:
</br>
- </br>
- Consultancy / PQS experience
- </br>
- Experience within care homes, retirement living or senior living
- </br>
- Alternatively, strong multi-bed residential experience such as apartments, BTR, PBSA, hotels or similar development-led projects
- </br>
- Strong pre and post-contract experience
- </br>
- The ability to manage projects and clients independently
- </br>
- Good commercial awareness and a client-facing approach
- </br>
- MRICS would be advantageous but is not essential
- </br>
</br>
Sector knowledge is important, but the business is equally interested in someone with the right multi-bed development experience and commercial mindset who can transfer their skills into the care and retirement market.
</br>
Package
</br>
£55,000 – £70,000 basic salary, depending on experience, plus a competitive benefits package.
</br>
Importantly, there is also a 10% new business bonus, providing genuine financial reward for individuals who use their network and relationships to introduce and develop new opportunities.
</br>
Why Join?
</br>
This is an opportunity to join a growing independent consultancy rather than simply become another person within a large corporate structure.
</br>
You’ll have the opportunity to work closely with the senior leadership team, take ownership of projects and clients, and play a visible role in the continued growth of the business.
</br>
For someone looking for greater autonomy, client exposure and the opportunity to be commercially rewarded for helping grow a consultancy, this represents an excellent next step.
