An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established construction business with an ambitious growth strategy.

</br>

This is an excellent opportunity to become an integral part of a strong commercial team, where you will have the opportunity to make a genuine impact and play a key role in the successful delivery of a range of projects.

</br>

Reporting directly to the Commercial Director, you will take commercial responsibility across the full project lifecycle, whilst also providing support and mentorship to junior members of the commercial team.

</br>

Projects will range in value from £2m–£10m, with a varied portfolio spanning sectors including education, commercial, leisure, healthcare, Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Justice and mixed-use developments.

Key Responsibilities:

• </br>
• Provide commercial and contractual advice throughout the project lifecycle
• </br>
• Advise on the financial feasibility of projects at early stages
• </br>
• Lead and manage main contract and subcontract administration
• </br>
• Negotiate with the subcontractor supply chain to achieve best value
• </br>
• Monitor and measure actual expenditure against budget through CVR and cost reporting
• </br>
• Prepare and present accurate monthly cost reports
• </br>
• Value works undertaken by subcontractors and certify interim and final payments
• </br>
• Prepare and manage subcontractor final accounts
• </br>
• Maintain accurate package summary sheets and commercial forecasts
• </br>
• Identify, assess and mitigate commercial and contractual risks
• </br>
• Manage risk and opportunity throughout the project lifecycle
• </br>
• Support the wider project team with commercial and contractual expertise
• </br>
• Mentor and support junior members of the commercial team
• </br>

About You:

</br>

• </br>
• Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related discipline
• </br>
• Proven experience in a Senior Quantity Surveyor / Senior Commercial position within the construction industry
• </br>
• Strong experience managing the commercial function across the full project lifecycle
• </br>
• Experience across sectors such as education, commercial, leisure, healthcare, MoD, MoJ or mixed-use
• </br>
• Strong knowledge of contract administration, procurement, valuation, change management and risk management
• </br>
• Experience managing the commercial delivery of high-value construction projects
• </br>
• Strong negotiation and communication skillsi></br>
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and relevant commercial/project management systems
• </br>
• Full UK driving licence
• </br>
