Location: Remote (UK-based)
Rate: £500 - £525 / day (Inside IR35)
Clearance Requirement: Active SC Clearance (ESSENTIAL)
Contract Length: 6 months + extension

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Front-End Contractor with deep expertise in React, Next.js, and AWS to join our engineering team.
In this role, you will lead the development and maintenance of scalable user interfaces for secure digital services. You will work closely with backend engineers and product teams, utilising your strong familiarity with modern front-end tooling and the AWS Cloudscape design system to deliver robust, accessible, and high-performance applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Feature Development: Design, build, and scale high-performance user interfaces using React and Next.js integrated with AWS services.
• Design System Integration: Implement and maintain UI components utilising the AWS Cloudscape design system for consistent, accessible, and enterprise-grade user experiences.
• Collaboration: Partner with backend developers, UX designers, and stakeholders in an agile environment to deliver clean, maintainable code.
• Code Quality & Testing: Ensure high standards of code quality through rigorous testing, code reviews, and adherence to security best practices.

Required Skills & Experience

• Security Clearance: Must hold an active, current SC Clearance (Security Check).
• Core Tech Stack:
• Extensive, hands‑on professional experience with React and Next.js.
• Strong working knowledge of AWS cloud environments and infrastructure.
• UI Standards: Proven experience working with enterprise design systems, specifically AWS Cloudscape.
• Delivery Track Record: A strong history of delivering complex, production-ready web applications in fast-paced contractor environments.
• Location: Remote‑based working within the UK.
