Senior Scientist

Overview

In this Senior Scientist role within Development Services, you will lead experimental work on purification development and viral clearance across multiple customer projects. You will apply scientific expertise to design and execute studies, review data, and support data-driven decisions while collaborating with customers and multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, execute and deliver multiple laboratory projects with safety, quality, and on-time delivery in mind.
• Perform purification development and viral clearance experiments, including chromatography, ultrafiltration/diafiltration, column packing and virus reduction filtration.
• Critically review data to generate robust process knowledge and support data-driven decisions.
• Engage with customer project teams, present progress, address challenges, and support a positive customer experience.
• Prepare and review scientific and project documentation (sampling plans, protocols, reports, SOPs, study docs).
• Collaborate with external vendors and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate studies and troubleshoot deviations.
• Coach and train junior team members and contribute to continuous improvement and best practices.
• Contribute to problem solving, scientific communication, and project integrity across studies.

Key requirements

• BSc or equivalent in a relevant scientific or technical discipline
• Laboratory experience with practical scientific experimentation and data analysis
• Knowledge of purification development techniques (chromatography, ultrafiltration/diafiltration); viral clearance experience is valuable
• Strong planning, prioritization and organizational skills to manage multiple projects
• Ability to analyze data, solve problems logically and communicate conclusions clearly
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with customer-facing capabilities
