Senior Software Engineer

Tech Talent House is delighted to be partnering with an established UK technology business to recruit a Senior Software Engineer for its Glasgow development team. Our client develops sophisticated, business-critical software solutions and is looking for a talented engineer to help develop and enhance its technology platforms.

The Opportunity You'll join a collaborative team of Software Engineers, Architects, Test Engineers and Project Managers, working together to build reliable, scalable and high-performance applications.

You'll be encouraged to share ideas, explore new approaches and take ownership of your work, with support from experienced colleagues and opportunities to continue developing your technical expertise.

What You'll Be Doing * Design, develop and maintain scalable Java applications using Spring Boot. * Build cloud-based microservices, event-driven applications and REST APIs. * Develop new features, enhance existing applications and optimise performance. * Work with AWS, PostgreSQL and modern development tools. * Contribute to architectural decisions, technical design and development best practices. * Write clean, maintainable code and support automated testing and CI/CD processes. * Collaborate with developers, testers and project managers in an Agile environment. * Troubleshoot complex issues, share technical knowledge and support fellow engineers.

Essential Technical Experience We're keen to hear from experienced Java Developers and Software Engineers who enjoy hands-on development and have a strong understanding of modern software engineering practices. The ideal candidate will bring experience across the following technologies: * Java 17+ and Spring Boot for backend application development. * REST APIs, OpenAPI, JSON and microservices architecture. * PostgreSQL, Spring Data JPA/Hibernate and Flyway. * Apache Kafka, Amazon MSK and event-driven architectures. * AWS cloud services, including API Gateway, ECS, CloudWatch, CodePipeline and Secrets Manager. * Docker, Docker Compose and co...
