Senior Specialist Solutions Architect (SSA - Cloud Infrastructure)

Overview

In this role you guide enterprise customers through designing, deploying, and securing Databricks on their cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP). You act as a trusted technical advisor, shaping scalable, secure lakehouse architectures and driving adoption. You collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver end-to-end solutions, influence product direction, and demonstrate Databricks’ value in customers’ data and AI strategies.

Responsibilities

• Guide customers through the full Databricks lifecycle on their cloud platform, from initial architecture to production deployment
• Architect secure, scalable enterprise deployments addressing networking, identity, and security compliance
• Be a subject matter expert in cloud infrastructure, IaC, networking, and identity management
• Drive technical wins in competitive scenarios with tailored Databricks solutions
• Orchestrate cross-functional resources (DSAs, SAs, FDE, Partners) to deliver complex solutions
• Provide structured feedback on customer requirements and competitive gaps to influence product direction

Key requirements

• 8+ years in solutions architecture, technical pre-sales, or senior hands-on roles
• Advanced expertise in cloud security controls, IAM, encryption, compliance, and identity protocols
• Expertise in enterprise cloud networking, private connectivity, and large-scale deployments
• Platform administration skills including HA/DR, cluster orchestration, observability, and cost management
• InfraOps experience with IaC tooling (Terraform, CloudFormation/CDK, ARM/Bicep, Deployment Manager)
• Proficiency in Python and SQL with live coding and solution-building ability
• Deep knowledge of distributed data systems, lakehouse patterns, and cloud-native data platforms
• Proficiency with the Databricks Platform
• Strong ability to lead architecture discussions with senior technical stakeholders
• Track record of driving platform adoption and customer engagement
• Willingness to travel up to 30%
• Excellent communication adaptable to technical and executive audiences
• Leadership and coaching of junior team members
• Strong stakeholder management and collaboration across cross-functional teams
• Cloud security controls and identity management (IAM, Entra ID/Azure AD, Google Cloud IAM)
• Networking and deployments (VPC/VNet, Direct Connect/ExpressRoute/Interconnect, Private Link/Service Connect)
• Platform administration (HA/DR, observability, cloud cost management)
