Senior/Staff Software Engineer - Rendering API

Overview In this senior role, you will help shape PlayStation's graphics software stack by designing and implementing rendering features for current and future GPU APIs. You'll work closely with platform software, hardware teams, and game developers to enable efficient game development and push GPU programming forward.

You'll balance technical decisions with customer and business needs, and drive the long-term direction of the PlayStation graphics stack. This is a hands-on engineering role with autonomy and impact at the core of PlayStation GPU technology.

Responsibilities Design and implement rendering features for PlayStation GPUs and APIs Contribute to the graphics stack to enable efficient game development Observe industry trends and align decisions with customers and business needs Shape the direction of the PlayStation graphics stack Collaborate with platform software, hardware teams, and game developers Act as game-developer advocate when interfacing with platform teams, and vice versa Engage in practical engineering work, including coding and debugging, with limited committee overhead Key requirements Experience in low-level graphics architecture and engineering Experience writing rendering code on top of multiple rendering APIs Experience writing rendering code on console Ability to maintain big-picture perspective while working through detailed implementation Eagerness to learn and take responsibility for the long run Collaborative teamwork with cross-functional groups Strong communication and advocacy between game developers and platform teams Ability to balance strategic and detailed work Low-level graphics architecture and engineering Rendering code development across multiple APIs Rendering on console platforms
