Overview
In this role you drive strategy, pursuit, and delivery of major Environmental Approvals projects within WSP’s Earth and Environment team. You’ll foster technical excellence, shape training and expertise initiatives, and expand client portfolios across VIC, SA, and WA. You lead with a zero-harm safety culture and build high-performing teams while guiding strategic growth with key government, mining, and resource clients. Responsibilities
- Oversee strategy, pursuit, management and delivery of major projects
- Foster Technical Excellence within Ecology & Environmental Approvals BU
- Support Expertise/Technical Excellence strategy and Technical Training programs aligned with national strategy
- Lead growth of new client relationships and portfolios in VIC, SA and WA
- Lead and model a zero harm HSE culture across projects
- Support strategic technical hiring and workforce planning to strengthen the team
Key requirements
- 20–25+ years experience in Environmental Approvals
- Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Urban Planning, Ecology, or related field
- Strong track record in strategy, business growth and talent development
- Demonstrated commitment to quality excellence and continuous improvement
- Experience working with industry leads and client relationship managers to drive revenue and service quality
- Ability to manage risk on complex or substantial projects
- Experience mentoring and transferring technical expertise within an organization
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills with strong interpersonal relationships
