About the roleAs a Shift Engineer, you'll play a vital role in keeping our production lines running safely, efficiently and reliably.
Working closely with Operations and Engineering teams, you'll use your technical expertise to reduce downtime, improve equipment performance and drive Continuous Improvement across your designated area. You'll take ownership of both planned and reactive maintenance activities, using lean manufacturing tools and root cause analysis techniques to identify issues and implement sustainable solutions.
Acting as a Subject Matter Expert in Intersnack Working Systems (IWS) and Progressive Maintenance (PM), you'll also coach and develop Equipment Owners, helping to build engineering capability across the site. This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive engineer who enjoys solving problems, driving improvements and making a visible impact on operational performance.

Delivering world-class maintenanceEnsure Planned Maintenance activities are completed effectively, defects are identified and resolved, and equipment remains reliable and operating at its bestDriving Continuous ImprovementUse lean manufacturing tools, root cause analysis and loss elimination techniques to reduce downtime, improve efficiency and eliminate wasteSupporting operational performanceTake ownership of IWS performance within your area, contributing to Daily Direction Setting meetings and driving actions that improve site performanceDeveloping engineering capabilityCoach and train Equipment Owners in IWS engineering principles and maintenance activities, supporting Autonomous Maintenance Step 3 and 4 deliveryProviding technical expertiseAct as a Subject Matter Expert for Progressive Maintenance and IWS tools, supporting colleagues and helping to embed best practice across the siteWed love to hear from you if you can bring: Recognised engineering qualificationsNVQ Level 3 in Engineering, alongside an 18th Edition qualification, with experience as a multi-skilled engineerStrong mechanical and electrical expertiseA proven ability to diagnose faults, resolve technical issues and maintain a wide range of production equipmentContinuous Improvement experienceExperience using root cause analysis, problem-solving methodologies and improvement tools to drive operational performanceCoaching and communication skillsThe ability to share knowledge, develop colleagues and build strong relationships across Engineering and Operations teamsA proactive and positive mindsetA can-do attitude, openness to change and a genuine passion for Continuous Improvement and team successOur purposeAt KP Snacks, we're passionate about creating happy snacking moments through our great tasting snacks and iconic brands.
