Shift Supervisor

We are looking for a motivated and approachable Production Shift Supervisor, or a Team Leader looking for their next step, to take responsibility for our well-established client's afternoon production shift. We're not looking for someone who just stands back and delegates!

We want someone who understands how a production line operates, is confident working with machinery and isn't afraid to roll their sleeves up when needed. Why Apply? Salary up to £40,000 per annum. Permanent, full-time employment.

Consistent afternoon shifts, Monday to Friday. A structured 4-week introduction with support from the Production Manager. The opportunity to take ownership of your shift and make a genuine impact. A hands-on leadership role where your experience and ideas will be valued.

The chance to develop your supervisory career within an established manufacturing business. Working Hours & Salary: Salary: Up to £40,000 per annum, depending on experience. Location: Nottingham. Contract: Permanent, full-time.

Permanent Shift: Monday to Friday, 2:00pm – 10:00pm. Your first 4 weeks: To help you settle into the business, you'll initially work on day shifts, either 7:00am – 3:00pm or 8:00am – 4:00pm (your choice). During this period, you'll work closely with the Production Manager, getting to know the team, machinery, production processes and how the morning and afternoon shifts hand over.

You'll have plenty of support throughout your introduction before moving onto your permanent 2:00pm – 10:00pm shift.

Your responsibilities will include

Leading, supporting and motivating the afternoon production team. Working hands-on alongside your team on the production line. Overseeing daily production activities, ensuring targets and deadlines are met. Keeping employees focused, organised and working towards shared goals.

Monitoring machinery and production processes, helping to identify and resolve issues. Ensuring products meet the required quality standards, with strong attention to detail. Allocating workloads and ensuring the right people are in the right areas.

Supporting and training team members, helping them develop their skills and confidence. Maintaining a safe, clean and organised working environment. Communicating effectively with the Production Manager and other departments.

Ensuring a smooth handover between shifts. What Are We Looking For? Personality and attitude are just as important to us as experience. We're looking for someone who is approachable, focused and genuinely enjoys working with people.

Someone who can keep a team motivated, maintain high standards and lead by example. Ideally, you'll have: Previous experience working within a manufacturing or production environment. Experience as a Production Supervisor, Shift Supervisor or Team Leader.

A good understanding of production lines, machinery and day-to-day manufacturing processes. Hands-on production experience, with the confidence to operate machinery and support the team when required. Strong communication skills and an approachable, down-to-earth personality.

The ability to keep people motivated, productive and working towards targets. Good organisational skills and excellent attention to detail. A proactive attitude, with the ability to spot problems and help find solutions. A willingness to get involved rather than simply oversee from the sidelines.
