Site Engineer – Civil Engineering / Groundworks Location: Epping, Essex Rate: £300 - £400 a day Job Type: Freelance / Contract Sector: Civil Engineering / Groundworks / Infrastructure Site Engineer – Epping Ridgeway & Co are currently recruiting for an experienced Site Engineer with strong groundworks experience to join an established civil engineering contractor on a project in Epping, Essex.
The successful candidate will be responsible for setting out, surveying and overseeing engineering activities across groundworks packages, ensuring works are completed accurately in line with drawings, specifications and project requirements.
This is an excellent opportunity for a freelance Site Engineer looking for a competitive £300 - £400 per day rate on a groundworks project, working alongside an established site team. Responsibilities
- Carrying out setting out and surveying activities across groundworks and civil engineering packages.
- Setting out foundations, drainage, roads, kerbs, levels and associated infrastructure works.
- Using Total Stations, GPS/GNSS and levelling equipment to ensure accurate setting out.
- Interpreting construction drawings, specifications and site plans.
- Monitoring the quality and accuracy of works, identifying and resolving engineering issues on site.
- Liaising with Site Managers, Project Managers, subcontractors and the wider delivery team.
- Maintaining accurate site records, as-built information and surveying documentation.
- Ensuring all works are carried out in accordance with health and safety requirements and project specifications. Requirements
- Proven experience as a Site Engineer within civil engineering and groundworks.
- Strong setting-out and surveying experience, particularly with foundations, drainage and infrastructure works.
- Confident reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
- Experience using Total Stations, GPS/GNSS equipment and levelling instruments.
- Good working knowledge of AutoCAD 2D and Microsoft Office.
- Valid CSCS card.
- Civil Engineering degree, HNC/HND or equivalent qualification preferred.
