Software Configuration & Release Management Engineer Rate: £320 - £340 per day (Inside IR35) Ensure all your application information is up to date and in order before applying for this opportunity. Location: Manchester (80% onsite / 20% remote) Duration: Until July 2027 The Role We're seeking a Software Configuration & Release Management Engineer to manage software releases, configuration control, and CI/CD processes within a complex Financial Services environment.

This role will be responsible for coordinating application and infrastructure releases, maintaining release governance, supporting deployment automation, and ensuring compliance within a highly regulated technology landscape.

Essential Skills & Experience Proven experience in Configuration Management and Release Management. Strong knowledge of source control, branching strategies, and release governance. Experience managing releases across complex enterprise environments.

Strong experience with CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation. Mandatory experience within Financial Services, Banking, Investment Banking, Asset Management, Custody Banking, or other regulated financial environments.

Experience with change management and audit-controlled delivery processes. Strong stakeholder management, planning, and communication skills. Technical Skills Experience with some of the following: Git, GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket Jenkins, Azure DevOps, Bamboo, GitLab CI/CD ServiceNow Change Management AWS, Azure, or GCP Terraform, Ansible PowerShell, Bash, or Python What We're Looking For A detail-oriented release professional with a strong DevOps mindset and proven experience operating within Financial Services organisations, delivering controlled, compliant, and reliable software releases.
