Software Developer - Core Data

Overview

In this role you will help design and operate Squarepoint’s reference data services used by investment researchers and traders. You will work in a learning culture with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, high-availability data pipelines built in kdb+/q, normalizing diverse datasets to a core data model.

You’ll resolve data issues in live trading and contribute to platform improvements while aligning with researchers and quants on evolving data needs. This is an opportunity to shape how data supports research, backtesting and trading at scale, with a strong emphasis on collaboration and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, test, optimize and troubleshoot kdb+/q data pipelines, frameworks and services
• Expose the reference data model via robust, scalable infrastructure with high uptime during trading hours
• Act as level 2+ production support for reference data services during live trading
• Collaborate with data operations and platform developers to reduce technical debt and improve the data platform
• Acquire deep understanding of data requirements from investment research teams to deliver solutions
• Write and review technical documentation (requirements, design docs, production runbooks)
• Collaborate with quants, technologists and researchers to evolve data services to changing requirements

Key requirements

• Bachelors degree in a STEM subject
• 2+ years development experience with kdb+/q
