Software Engineer III - Java / React/ AI

Overview

As a Software Engineer III in Wholesale Credit Risk, you will contribute as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver secure, scalable technology products. You will develop production-grade software, troubleshoot issues, and ensure alignment with risk and security requirements. You will leverage AI-assisted development tools and participate in peer reviews, testing, and secure coding practices. Your work supports complex financial risk processes and data-driven improvements. This role offers the chance to shape critical systems in a high-stakes, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Execute software solutions with design, development, and debugging to tackle non-routine problems
• Produce secure, high-quality production code and maintain algorithms across integrated systems
• Leverage enterprise AI coding assist tools to improve quality, speed, and productivity, with peer review and secure coding validation
• Apply SDLC tools and automation to enhance value through automation
• Create architecture and design artifacts for complex applications and ensure design constraints are met
• Analyze large multi-source data sets to visualize and report for continuous software improvement
• Identify hidden data patterns to drive improvements in coding hygiene and system architecture

Key requirements

• Formal training or certification in software engineering
• Hands-on experience in system design, development, testing, and operational stability
• Experience coding in a modern language(s) and database querying in a large corporate environment
• Hands-on experience using enterprise AI-assisted development tools with ability to validate AI outputs
• Understanding of responsible AI use, data sensitivity, secure handling, resiliency and security expectations
• Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle and agile practices including CI/CD, resilience, and security
