Software Engineering Manager

Engineering Manager/Engineering Lead Up to £90,000 Hybrid - Swindon .NET/C# SR2 is recruiting a Software Engineering Leader to join a business undergoing significant technology transformation. This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of a major greenfield engineering programme, leading multiple engineering teams and helping embed modern engineering practices.

We're looking for someone with a strong software engineering background who is already operating as an Engineering Manager and is ready to take the next step into a broader leadership role. This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a role with greater responsibility, with the support and time to grow into it.

You'll be gradually given more ownership and accountability, rather than expected to hit the ground running from day one.

The Role

Lead two engineering teams, providing technical direction, coaching and people leadership. Take ownership of engineering delivery across a high-profile greenfield programme. Drive modern engineering practices, including CI/CD, automated testing, DevOps and cloud-native development.

Shape technical roadmaps, influence architectural decisions and champion engineering quality. Work closely with senior stakeholders to manage technical risks, priorities and delivery.

Requirements

3+ years of experience as an Engineering Manager/Lead Technical expertise/background in C#/.NET Strong understanding of modern software architecture, APIs, microservices and integration. Experience driving engineering best practices, automation and continuous improvement.

Strong people leadership skills, with the ambition to step into a larger leadership role. Package: £80,000-£90,000 Bonus scheme Generous matched pension contributions 35 days holiday + additional benefits
