Solution Consultant - R&D

Overview

In this role you partner with sales, product, and technical teams to craft AI-enabled solutions for Benchling’s biotech and pharma customers. You translate customer scientific objectives into compelling, data-driven demonstrations that fit each prospect’s IT landscape. You engage with senior scientists and IT leaders to shape proposals and influence product roadmaps. You work across cross-functional teams to deliver reusable content and ensure customer success, contributing to Benchling’s mission to accelerate biotech R&D.

Responsibilities

• Partner with account executives and leadership to plan and strategize deals that maximize value for customers
• Conduct organized discovery to identify customer needs, decision criteria, and business issues
• Craft solutions based on Benchling capabilities and best practices, mapping data models to customer science and tech landscapes
• Present and demonstrate solutions persuasively, manage questions and objections, and address competitive alternatives
• Collaborate with product management to provide customer insight and influence roadmap, ensuring clarity for buying decisions
• Create reusable content, training materials, and solutions; mentor and support other Solution Consultants

Key requirements

• Master in Biology or related Life Science field with minimum 4 years of work experience, ideally customer facing
• Experience with scientific/informatics software such as LIMS, ELN, or similar; familiarity with antibody engineering software a plus
• Experience demonstrating scientific software in a pre-sales setting to top biotech and pharma companies
• Ability to model scientific data and craft solutions based on product knowledge and best practices
• Experience presenting to researchers and scientific buyers; willingness to travel 25-30%
• Fluency in English; German or French a plus
