Solutions Architect (Enterprise Modernization)

Overview

In this senior role, you will lead technical excellence in Enterprise Modernization, guiding client engagements and shaping delivery frameworks across Europe. You will act as a trusted advisor to clients and internal teams, influence pre‑sales, and drive scalable modernization patterns in large legacy programs. Your work accelerates asset adoption and elevates the technical maturity of Thoughtworks’ modernization offering. You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver impactful, high‑quality solutions.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance on Enterprise Systems Modernization
• Support delivery teams in solving complex client problems
• Contribute to solution design, proposals, and pre‑sales activities
• Develop and refine service accelerators and reference architectures
• Mentor engineers and architects within the service domain
• Bridge between delivery teams and global service development
• Measure success by technical quality, asset adoption, and talent uplift

Key requirements

• 10+ years in software engineering, platform delivery, or technical consulting
• 3+ years in Enterprise Systems Modernization advisory or SME role
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• Deep expertise in modernization strategies, cloud architecture, and platform thinking
• Experience supporting solution design and technical delivery in complex enterprise environments
• Ability to build, extend, and support delivery tools, frameworks, and reusable assets
• Strong engineering skills, architecture patterns knowledge, and toolchain understanding
• Excellent communication to translate technical insights into actionable business decisions
