Location: LondonSalary: 35k DOEWork Pattern: Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pmReporting To: Specifications ManagerCompany OverviewA well-established and growing UK food business is seeking a Specifications Technologist to join its technical function.

The company operates within the fast-paced retail and foodservice sectors, supplying high-quality, responsibly sourced products to major UK customers. With a strong focus on innovation, sustainability, and continuous improvement, the organisation is currently undergoing an exciting period of growth and transformation.

Role ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will play a key role in managing product specifications and supporting the product development lifecycle from concept through to launch. Responsibilities will include: Creating, reviewing, and maintaining accurate finished product specifications for retail and foodservice customersEnsuring all specifications are completed and approved in line with customer and internal deadlinesManaging updates to live product data, including delists and product changesCollaborating cross-functionally with NPD, technical, supply chain, and commercial teamsReviewing and approving artwork to ensure compliance with current food labelling legislation and customer requirementsMaintaining specification and artwork trackers, ensuring data accuracy and version controlSupporting stage gate processes and product launches to ensure timely deliveryAssisting with customer systems and external data submissions where requiredExperience & QualificationsPrevious experience in a specifications or technical role within the food industryStrong understanding of food labelling regulations and retailer requirementsExperience working with major UK retailers is highly desirableExcellent attention to detail and organisational skillsStrong communication and stakeholder management abilitiesProactive problem-solving approach with the ability to escalate where necessaryGood IT skills, including Microsoft OfficeA degree in food science, technology, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)BenefitsHybrid working (typically 2 days from home)25 days holiday plus bank holidaysCompany pension schemeEnhanced family-friendly benefitsLife assuranceEmployee assistance programmeCycle to work schemeStaff discountsOn-site parkingSocial and wellbeing initiativesIf this role sounds of interest, please reach out to jack.thomson@drnewitt.com or call 0131 226 5060.Discipline(s): Food & DrinkJob type: Permanent
