Sr. Manager, Field Engineering Qatar&Africa

Overview

As Field Engineering Manager, you lead a pre-sales team across Qatar and Africa, partnering with sales to drive revenue through value-based, technically informed engagements. You mentor and scale a high-growth field engineering group, articulating business value and managing complex cycles with key partners. You will build strategic customer relationships and align cross-functional efforts to advance implementation strategies and Databricks’ brand in the region.

Responsibilities

• Hire, mentor and grow the pre-sales team for the Qatar & Africa markets
• Foster a collaborative, customer-obsessed culture within a hyper-growth team
• Improve ROI of field engineering involvement in sales cycles
• Ensure solution and value-based selling within the field-engineering organization
• Understand revenue potential and needs in accounts in the assigned region
• Engage with customer executives to build strategic partnerships
• Align with partners and internal services to secure implementation strategies
• Strengthen Databricks brand as part of the regional Leadership team in collaboration with Marketing and Sales

Key requirements

• Experience managing Big Data, Cloud, or SaaS professionals
• Experience in consumption-based business environments
• Mentoring and scaling technical teams
• Ability to establish processes for field members to drive efficiency and product focus
• Ability to collaborate with Sales and cross-functional leaders
• Passion for data and AI market and cloud software value propositions
• Technical or consulting background in Data Engineering, Database technologies or Data Science
• Italian native speaker and fluent in English
