Sr. Sanctions Manager

Overview

In this role you will guide Visa’s sanctions program across global businesses, ensuring adherence to sanctions and export control requirements. You will collaborate with product, legal, compliance, and risk teams to identify and mitigate sanctions risks and support senior management with clear communications. You’ll lead escalations, oversee remediation activities, and drive cross-functional sanctions initiatives. This is a chance to shape how sanctions compliance scales in a payments environment and to influence risk-aware decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Provide sanctions advisory support to Regulated Entities, Operations, and Technology teams
• Collaborate with product teams to assess product sanctions risks and implement mitigations
• Oversee sanctions screening controls for Customer and Payment activities
• Contribute to tools and technology enhancements for the sanctions program, including UAT
• Support development of sanctions/export control training programs
• Assist in drafting and updating sanctions program policies, procedures, and risk assessments
• Assist in KPI/KRI reporting to management and stakeholders

Key requirements

• CAMS certification a plus
• 8+ years implementing OFAC/sanctions programs, export controls, AML/ATF, BSA, and USA PATRIOT Act
• Ability to represent sanctions compliance to auditors, regulators, and partners
• Strong knowledge of global sanctions regulations and regulatory expectations (OFAC, OFSI, EU, UN)
• Highly organized with strong research and analytical skills
• Effective written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
