Staff Validation Systems Engineer

Overview

As Staff Validation Engineer, you will lead validation development and execution for ADAS Functions within the Wayve AI Driver. You will partner with systems engineers and data scientists, leveraging Wayve’s simulation and evaluation tech to meet evolving AV standards.

The role focuses on building robust validation across on-road and simulated driving to support global deployment. You will drive measurable improvements in validation processes and ensure timely, scalable testing in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive validation strategy across test modalities for ADAS Functions
• Define and implement general purpose metrics for validating on-road and simulated driving behavior
• Define test coverage requirements and build comprehensive test suites
• Develop acceptance criteria with Product, Safety, and AV Engineering teams
• Analyze test results and report findings to Release and Autonomy Engineering stakeholders
• Identify data, simulation, and evaluation dependencies to enable automated validation execution
• Collaborate with Product, Architecture, Data, Simulation, and Autonomy leads to design efficient test strategies

Key requirements

• Clear, concise communicator with strong documentation
• Strong analytical skills with evidence-based decision-making
• Hands-on experience evaluating validated complex engineered systems (simulated or real-world)
• Experience in Automotive or AV industries
• Proficiency in Python to implement metrics and work with evaluation codebase
• Experience with both simulated and physical testing environments for autonomous systems
• Experience analyzing and reporting validation results
• Demonstrated ownership from ideation to implementation in ambiguous, fast-paced environments
• Degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Aerospace, or related field
