Stores Team Leader (Temp to Perm) Location: On-site Hours: Full-time, Monday–Friday (38 hours) Salary: £30,000 (depending on experience)About the RoleSelect Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of a leading manufacturing company for a Stores Team Leader to join the Operations team on a temp-to-perm basis.
This is a hands-on operational leadership role responsible for ensuring the Stores function runs efficiently, safely, and in line with production requirements. You will lead a team of stores operatives, supporting day-to-day activity while ensuring high standards of accuracy, stock control, and system compliance.
Key ResponsibilitiesLead, support, and supervise the Stores team to achieve daily operational targetsEnsure accurate and timely picking, goods receipt, and distribution of materials to productionMaintain high levels of stock accuracy through cycle counting and disciplined inventory controlOversee ERP transactions and ensure full compliance with scanning and traceability processesAct as first point of contact for operational queries and prioritisation of workMaintain housekeeping, audit readiness, and operational standards within the Stores areaPromote and enforce safe working practices in line with EHS requirementsSupport continuous improvement activity across Stores operationsEnsure effective use of automated storage systems (VLM)Key RequirementsEssential:Experience in a warehouse, stores, or materials handling environmentStrong attention to detail and commitment to accuracyAbility to work in a fast-paced operational environmentGood communication and team leadership skillsFull UK driving licenceDesirable:Experience with ERP systems and hand-held scanning devicesFLT licenceSupervisory or team leader experienceContinuous improvement or lean manufacturing experienceHours and Benefits38 hours per week, Monday to FridayWorking hours between 08:00–18:00 (to be agreed with line manager)Early Friday finish currently in place, subject to workloadTemp-to-perm opportunity with long-term progression potentialPlease apply if you have relevant experience in a warehouse, stores, or materials handling environment and are looking for a leadership role within a fast-paced manufacturing setting
