Structural BIM TechnicianLocation: GlasgowSalary: up to 48k dependent on experience Emtech Recruitment is working with a well-established structural, civil, and geo-environmental consultancy to recruit a Structural BIM Technician to join their growing team.

This is a predominantly office-based role, offering the opportunity to work on a variety of residential, commercial, and industrial building projects within a collaborative and technically driven environment.

The RoleAs a Structural Technician, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of small to medium-sized projects, working closely with engineers, architects, and contractors. You will be responsible for producing and managing technical drawings, coordinating design details, and ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations.

Key ResponsibilitiesManage the production and coordination of drawings for major projects, ensuring accuracy and quality of outputSupport engineers in developing technical detailing packagesLiaise directly with architects and contractors to resolve design queries and coordinate informationAttend technical meetings and represent the business where requiredCarry out site inspections and provide guidance to contractors to address defects where necessaryEnsure compliance with BIM Level 2 standards (minimum requirement)Assist in the preparation of risk assessments and demonstrate an understanding of Principal Designer dutiesMaintain up-to-date knowledge of CDM Regulations and Health & Safety legislation, supporting clients and internal processesIdentify and resolve conflicts in construction details, escalating to Project Engineers where appropriateReview subcontractor fabrication drawings to ensure alignment with project specificationsMaintain confidentiality of sensitive financial and project informationReport potential claims or defective works to senior leadershipAdhere to company Quality and Environmental procedures within the Integrated Management SystemAbout YouProven experience in a similar Structural Technician roleStrong understanding of construction detailing and project coordinationWorking knowledge of BIM Level 2Familiarity with UK regulations including CDM and Health & Safety standardsExcellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teamsProactive approach to problem-solving and continuous professional developmentThis job description outlines the core responsibilities of the role but is not exhaustive.
