Structural Design Engineer

Our client, based in Birmingham, is seeking a talented Structural Design Engineer with a strong background in structural design, technical drawing and draughting. This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of projects from concept through to detailed design while working on a varied portfolio of commercial, residential, industrial and infrastructure developments Client Details This opportunity is with a well-established Birmingham based organisation within the building and construction industry, specialising in large-scale projects.

The company is known for its professional approach and dedication to delivering high-quality projects. Description Produce structural designs and calculations for a variety of construction projects. Prepare detailed engineering drawings and models using industry-standard CAD software.

Develop technical specifications, reports and design documentation. Liaise with architects, contractors, clients and other design disciplines throughout project delivery. Review and check structural drawings to ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations.

Assist in the coordination and management of project deliverables, budgets and timescales. Undertake site visits and provide technical support during construction phases. Contribute to design reviews and identify practical, cost-effective engineering solutions.

Profile Degree qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering or a related discipline. Strong experience in structural design within the building and construction sector. Proven technical drawing and draughting capability with excellent attention to detail.

Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD. Experience using structural analysis and design software. Good understanding of UK building regulations, design codes and industry standards. Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritise workload effectively. Working towards or already holding professional membership with a recognised engineering institution would be advantageous. Job Offer Competitive salary ranging from £55,000 to £65,000 (dependant on experience/chartered status).
