An established engineering consultancy based in Banbury is looking to recruit a talented Structural Engineer with at least four years' experience to join its growing team and work on a varied portfolio of building structures projects.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Structural Engineer who enjoys technical design, problem-solving and working collaboratively with colleagues to deliver high-quality engineering solutions. You will have the opportunity to take on greater responsibility, develop your technical expertise and contribute to projects from initial concept through to detailed design and construction. The RoleAs a Structural Engineer, you will work within an experienced design team on a range of building projects, taking responsibility for structural design tasks and supporting the successful delivery of schemes across various sectors.
Your responsibilities will include
Undertaking structural design and calculations for a variety of building structures. Working with materials including steel, reinforced concrete, masonry and timber. Preparing detailed structural designs, calculations, reports and technical documentation.
Producing and reviewing structural drawings using relevant design software. Coordinating with architects, contractors, clients and other design professionals. Ensuring designs comply with relevant building regulations, design codes and industry standards.
Managing your own design workload and contributing to project delivery within agreed deadlines. Supporting junior engineers and graduates where appropriate. RequirementsTo be considered for this opportunity, you will ideally have: A degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
At least four years' relevant experience within a structural engineering consultancy. Strong technical knowledge of building structures and structural design principles. Experience undertaking structural calculations and producing detailed designs.
Familiarity with relevant structural design software and industry standards. Good communication, organisational and problem-solving skills. The ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a wider design team.
Experience working on a range of building structures projects and coordinating designs with other disciplines would be particularly beneficial. Progress towards Chartered Engineer status, or a desire to achieve chartership, would also be advantageous.
