Are you an experienced Residential Support Worker looking for flexible agency work where every shift makes a difference? We are recruiting reliable, compassionate and resilient Residential Support Workers to support vulnerable children and young people across a variety of residential childcare settings.
The young people you support may have experienced trauma, difficult life circumstances or instability and may have autism, emotional and behavioural difficulties, challenging behaviours or other complex support needs. This is an ideal opportunity for experienced care professionals who want to build their experience, work flexibly and make a genuine difference in the lives of vulnerable young people.
The Role As a Residential Support Worker, you will provide consistent, high-quality care and support, helping young people feel safe, valued and understood. Your responsibilities may include: Providing day-to-day care and support to vulnerable children and young people.
Building positive, trusting and professional relationships. Supporting young people with their individual routines, needs and development. Encouraging participation in activities, hobbies and interests. Supporting emotional wellbeing and helping young people develop confidence and independence.
Responding appropriately to challenging behaviours using effective de-escalation techniques. Supporting young people with autism and other additional needs. Following individual care plans, risk assessments and behaviour support plans.
Maintaining clear professional boundaries. Providing consistency, structure and reassurance. Completing accurate records and reporting any concerns or significant incidents. No two shifts are the same. You may work across different residential settings and support young people with a wide range of needs, so adaptability, patience and emotional resilience are essential.
Flexible Agency Shifts Agency work gives you the freedom to choose shifts that fit around your existing commitments, while providing valuable experience across different residential childcare environments. Shifts can include: Long day shifts Day and night shifts Weekends Bank holidays Sleep-in shifts Flexibility is essential, as shift patterns will vary depending on the home and the individual needs of the young people.
About You We're looking for Residential Support Workers who are: Calm, patient and emotionally resilient Confident managing challenging behaviours Comfortable supporting young people with autism and additional needs Reliable and professional Adaptable and confident working in different environments Able to build positive relationships with vulnerable young people Passionate about helping young people develop and achieve positive outcomes Requirements To be considered for these agency opportunities, you will need: To be 21 years of age or over A minimum of 6 months' experience working with children or young people in a residential setting A clean UK driving licence Flexibility to work long days, weekends and sleep-ins when required A genuine commitment to safeguarding and supporting vulnerable children and young people Why Work With Us?
