Joining Breedon means becoming part of a team that values excellence and is committed to making a positive impact. Position Overview We are looking for an experienced and motivated Surfacing Foreperson to join our team, working across projects based in Inverness and Elgin .

In this hands-on leadership role, you will be responsible for supervising road surfacing and highway maintenance projects, ensuring work is delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. You will coordinate and lead surfacing crews, oversee the safe operation of plant and equipment, and work closely with Contracts Managers and other stakeholders to ensure projects are completed on time and in line with company procedures.

This role involves working outdoors, travelling to sites across the Inverness and Elgin area, and requires flexibility to work night shifts where required. Key Responsibilities Lead and supervise surfacing operatives on site, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the required quality standards Plan, coordinate, and oversee daily surfacing activities in line with programme requirements Ensure the safe laying, levelling, and finishing of asphalt materials Supervise the operation of surfacing plant, tools, and equipment, ensuring they are used correctly and maintained appropriately Conduct site briefings, toolbox talks, and ensure compliance with company procedures and safe systems of work Monitor productivity, quality, and progress, reporting updates to Contracts Managers as required Carry out routine inspections of plant, equipment, and PPE, reporting defects promptly Promote a positive safety culture by reporting and addressing hazards, incidents, defects, and near misses Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and the wider project team to ensure successful project delivery Work flexibly across different sites and shifts, including night work where required Skills, Knowledge
