Tax Senior

We are recruiting a Tax Senior to join an independent accountancy firm on a fixed-term contract to provide maternity cover until January 2028, with the potential for the position to become permanent. Working alongside the Tax Manager and directors, you will support the delivery of tax compliance services to a varied client portfolio, with a particular focus on personal tax.

Key responsibilities include

• Preparation of personal and corporation tax returns.
• Preparation of quarterly MTD income tax submissions.
• Preparation of rental and sole trader accounts.
• Assisting with P11Ds and other tax compliance work.
• Bookkeeping using Sage and Xero.
• Liaising with HMRC to resolve client queries.
• Supporting the Tax Manager and directors with ad-hoc tax matters.
• Ensuring compliance work is completed accurately and within statutory deadlines. The successful candidate will have:
• Previous tax experience gained within an accountancy practice.
• Strong personal tax compliance knowledge.
• Good organisational skills and the ability to manage deadlines.
• Familiarity with accounting software such as Sage and Xero.

ATT qualification would be advantageous, although relevant experience is equally welcome. This is an opportunity to join a supportive independent firm offering a varied tax role, with the possibility of longer-term employment beyond the initial contract. JBRP1_UKTJ
